Kanchanaburi - Escape to River Kwai

Wangnokkeaw Resort 

                Situated 87 Miles west of the capital, Kanchanaburi is the third largest province of whole country. Kanchanaburi is especially well-known for two main rivers passing through province, the River Kwai Yai and River Kwai Noi, and the province's history regarding world war two. This province is popular destination vacation town for both local and international tourists and it also offers visitors a variety of options from outdoor activities like exploring mounting and floating river. 

               The float house in Saiyok, Kanchanaburi is one of my favorite spot for weekend getaway. Saiyok district, it has extensive lineup of resort along its Kwai Noi riverside. There are different range of resort which is suitable for your budget in this area. 

               For this holiday, I  stayed in Wang Nok Keaw park view which is around 100 dollar a night for standard craft included breakfast and dinner. I picked this resort not because very reasonable price, but also the location is absolutely stunning, sandwiched between two rivers and surrounded by mountains. The views are spectacular and they offer free floating three times a day.

             Standard craft room is not luxury room with full facility but who need TV while you are in pure jungle slow life. It is a good chance to relax truly and relax with beautiful nature. 

             Dinner buffet was better than my expectation, there were 5-6 Thai dishes on the line (The taste might not be as spicy because there are number of foreigners). The dining room are open-air with incredible river view. 

            I spent my evening laying down and watching stars in front of my room. It was the first time for me to see falling star and it was a great memory for me. The weather was a bit cold at dark so it was very nice to stay up late just to be with yourself here.

           I would recommend you to stay in this place, If you want to get very simple and peaceful holiday.

Tips :

                You can get to Kanchanaburi by car, bus, minivan and also train. once you arrived to town, you can take the bus or minivan at Kanchanaburi Bus station(just look for Kanchanaburi - Sangklaburi). These public transportation can drop you at the entrance of Daowadung Cave which you can call the resort to pick you up.
